City hall of Hämeenlinna-guiding

Today I gave an introduction to the city hall of Hämeenlinna to some of my classmates and teacher.

My feedback to myself is that I should have gotten more familiar with my subject so I hadn't been forced to read straight from my notes.

I also should have contacted the staff beforehand to find out if we would have been able to go inside the city hall.

I also got feedback from five of my classmates.

First I asked them to grade some of the aspects of my guidance. Here are the average scores. (1-5 with five being the best)

Content 3,8

Structure 3,8

Performance 4

Interestingness 3,8

The additional comments I got from them were:

  • good content
  • good photos
  • understandable English
  • shouldn't have read straight from the paper->no eye-contact to audience
  • lots of information

My motivation to doing the guidance was first good but I got discouraged by the fact that I found so little information about the city hall in the internet.

I managed to stay in the schedule fairly well.

I liked the fact that we made the guidances to our own classmates and everyone got to see others perform. I also liked the fact that we all made our own feedback-sheet according to what we wanted feedback from.

From the guidance I learned the importance of preparing because I needed my notes too much and also that the visit to inside the building would have made the guidance soooo much more interesting and realistic!
